KINGSHOTT SCORES KRIKKE BOYS SHOOTOUT PODIUM

Author:- Redline Media
DAYNE Kingshott and the Krikke Motorsport team wrapped up the busiest period of their 2024-25 season campaign with a podium finish in last Saturday night’s Krikke Boys Shootout at the Perth Motorplex. In what is an event that is very close to the Krikke Motorsport team’s heart, Kingshott was in solid form throughout the two-night Krikke Boys Shootout, and had it not been for a late caution, the result of a third place on podium could’ve been a few spots higher on the podium with the team’s fourth Krikke Boys Shootout win.
“I was right in there with a shot late in the race, but we had the unfortunate thing of a caution period coming out just as I had passed Kerry (Madsen) for second and was chasing after Jock (Goodyer), and at the end, we had to settle for third,” commented the WA # 2 Mobil 1 / Bunbury Toyota supported Maxim driver, whose team had to change the car’s jacob’s ladder during the lap 18 red light stoppage in Saturday night’s feature race following earlier contact with the wall.
“Heading into a special event like the Krikke Boys Shootout, I have a fair bit of pressure on my shoulders; however, to be honest, it’s no more pressure than I put on myself each night running with a high profile team such as Krikke Motorsport, and although it was pleasing to finish on the podium on Saturday night it was, at the same time, disappointing to miss out on the win, but we’ll be back next season to try and win it again.”
Having ran a total of 19 race meetings over the past two months, which included running the High Limit International over the Christmas-New Year period at the Perth Motorplex as well as the Grand Annual Classic and Australian Championship events over on the east coast, it’s certainly been a busy period for Kingshott and the Krikke Motorsport team. “We haven’t had a weekend off since Christmas, so we have certainly been busy, but it’s been great racing on such a regular basis, and although we have had some misfortune at times, we’ve had some really strong results up against not only Australia’s, but some of the world’s best racers,” he said.
“Another pleasing aspect is that although we’ve been running a very busy schedule, we’ve been able to maintain our Maddington Toyota Series lead and, in the process, learn so much as a team – both on home soil and when we ventured over to the east coast.” The Krikke Motorsport team will now have a weekend off from racing, before their Maddington Toyota Series campaign continues with the 19th round at Ellenbrook Speedway on the Sunday of March 2.
